Fun Ladies Quilt

What a great weekend it has been.  Beautiful weather with spring not too far into the future.  Makes me want to get out into the garden and clean up the winter deluge.  But fitting it in with my crafting will be difficult, as we all know LOL.

This past week has been filled with completing a well overdue quilt that I had pieced together years ago.  You know how it is, you buy fabric that catches your eye but doesn't go with any room of your house.  Ahuh, I can see you nodding.
Well by chance a daughter of mine emailed a photo of her newly set up lounge in just the right colours, and as it is a lap size quilt, yep you guessed. It was a mad sewing frenzy to back and quilt it in time for her birthday.  Phew, done and mailed to Aussie in record time.  Thankfully she loved.  Now back to the other UFO's lurking in my cupboard.....

Thursday, 28 August 2014

Well here we are at the end of another week. Please to remember 29 August is Daffodil Day.  A remembrance of all past and present sufferers of the cancer disease.  My mother died some 20 years ago after being diagnosed only a few months before she passed away.  It had gone undetected.

I know this cancer affects just about every family in some way.  Not just those with it but also the friends and families around them.  So please take a minute to think of those close ones and say a prayer.

If you see a collector do give a gold coin or two towards the research facilities who are doing a great job.  Just wish we had good news around the corner in preventing and curing this illness.  I love and miss you mum.  Think of you everyday xxx

Explosion Photo Box

I was going through some of my past projects and came across this 'Explosion Photo Box' tutorial I wrote up last year. The idea is not mine though I have made some adjustments. These are so easy to do I thought some of you might like the instructions for free.

They make great gifts for friends and family, and are a conversation starter to visitors in the home.  So take a look and have a go.  And do email me a photo of your completed version.  I have seen some awesome ones.
