Christmas Mini Boxed Photo Album

Over the past two weeks I have been constructing a Christmas themed Mini Boxed Photo Album.  

I have seen a few online and thought I would love to make one.  I did not have a pattern/template.  I thought I could work it out myself.  Well I did and love the end result.  I just need to fill it with Christmas photos of 2014.

Post It Note Cover & Pen

POST-IT-NOTES COVER & PEN



These instructions are for 3"x 3" Post-It-Notes

Materials:

Card stock cut at 7 3/8" x 3 1/4"
Bone scorer
Snail adhesive
Short pens or pens
Stamps, ink pads, and anything to embellish with






Score your card stock at intervals of  3 1/8", 3 1/2" and 3 7/8"
Fold card along all center score lines.  Cut to the score line at equal intervals as shown in the diagram below.  About 1/2" apart.  Enough room for a pen or pencil.

At this stage you can embellish the cover.  Stamp and emboss with celebration sentiments , or simply emboss with your Cuttle-Bug machine.  I have done both.

Once completed, fold and score lines so that the pen holder sits proud as in photo.  Apply snail adhesive to secure the  middle score line to the inside of the back, thus producing a book cover.

On the back of your post it notes pack run several lines of snail adhesive and carefully center inside the back panel.  There you are, a great economical and practical for for anyone.  Especially for those last minute gift ideas.  Easy and cheap to create.

Mini Scrapbook Photo Album

I am currently working on mini scrapbook photo albums which I love. So creative from start to finish. This particular album is called 'A Step in Time'. And it was created with the male in mind. I chose the paper pad named 'Vintage Grunge' by Craft Concepts. 

The pad consists of 48 double sided 12" pages. It is jam-packed full of grunge type designs. Ideal for our male species. And if you are stuck for a present then why not create a similar such album.

Each page will hold between 6 - 10 photos, that includes both sides.  So with 6 pages this album can capture a lot memories.

The design that I took inspiration from was the Kathy Orta's build a page album.  Go to her video  Kathy Orta if you want to follow her design.  She created hers from envelopes and cards, but I made mine from A4 cardstock.  Very easy to adapt.


I have created a video on YouTube for you followers with more in-depth photos of the finished project.  I am super pleased with it and can't wait to move onto the next one.

Z Flap Photo Album


Hi everyone, it's Friday!  The end of another week.  Boy don't they fly by?  I have been busy with another video for YouTube and it is ready to share with you.  In the past six months or so I have been right into creating photo-albums.  Having perused the internet for what I wanted, I tried a few out. 

Some successful and others I won't try again.  You know how it is.  Some designs work out for you and others just don't.  I found this tutorial by Laura Denison who has a number of videos/tutorials on YouTube and her website.  She has an amazing head for designing from card-stock and paper. 

Some of her projects are free to download instructions and others require payment.  Fair enough when you see just how much work goes into designing, writing and putting together a video. I wish I had her patience.

So, the Z Flap Photo Album is about a 6 x 8" in size.  It opens from bottom to top (landscape view) instead of a traditional book method.  Each page (front & back) will hold eight photos/journaling.  Plenty of space.  The paper pad I used was by Webster's Pages which I purchased from Just scrapping.  And the card-stock was from Stampin-Up; Whisper White & Very Vanilla.

I had a lot of fun constructing this album and can't wait to put some photos in.  I have put a link to my video which takes you through all the pages.  It is not instructional as I think Laura's video says it all.  So please take a look.

Explosion Photo Box

 

I was going through some of my past projects and came across this 'Explosion Photo Box' tutorial I wrote up last year. The idea is not mine though I have made some adjustments. These are so easy to do I thought some of you might like the instructions for free. 

They make great gifts for friends and family, and are a conversation starter to visitors in the home.  So take a look and have a go.  And do email me a photo of your completed version.  I have seen some awesome ones.
